Decolourization of Methylene Blue in Aqueous Solution by Photocatalytic Oxidation, Fenton Oxidation and Biosorption

The aim of the study was to investigate decolourization Methylene Blue (MB) in aqueous solution using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) and biosorption comparatively. Photocatalytic MB studied TiO2 as catalyst. photocatalytic by direct UV irradiation alone, only TiO2/UV investigated. It found that process increased with decreasing pH, rate also presence when compared alone. Decolourization Fenton (Fe(II)/H2O2). Concentrations Fe(II) H2O2 on ratio were optimum catalyst 1:3 at pH 4.0. In second part study, conducted plant gall immobilised alumina. removal percentages calculated both alumina immobilisation from 60-70% 90-95%. proposed methods (AOPs biosorption) have advantages disadvantages each other.
